Cincinnati surreptitiously reactivates 50-year-old retired jersey number without notifying anyone, including retired player's family:

Tina Rossi, Gene (Rossi's) daughter, told the Cincinnati Enquirer that, "The only thing my mother got from UC is money requests."

There can't be too many others like me, who watch 13-plus hours of college football every Saturday. Can there?

Joel Fish, a sports psychologist in Philadelphia, has no statistics on how many fans would watch all 13 games in a video frenzy on a college football Saturday, but in his study of sports addicts, he knows that some burn out and others experience marital and job problems from repeated overexposure to Brent Musburger, Bulldogs, Hurricanes, Ducks and drum majors.

From the Fort-Worth Star Telegram:

DID YOU KNOW?

The Alabama-Auburn rivalry is so intense that the series once had a 41-year interruption because the schools clashed in 1907 over $11. Auburn wanted $3.50 in expense money for the 22 players who made the trip to Birmingham for the '07 game, and Alabama offered to pay $3 per player. It took pressure from the Alabama House of Representatives before the schools would renew their rivalry, which they did in 1948.

That's not intensity, folks. That's stupidity.

Andy Rooney's first noteworthy observation in 25 years draws criticism?

"I mean, I'm not a sexist person, but a woman has no business being down there trying to make some comment about a football game."

I don't get it--he said he's not a sexist person. What's the problem?

Cal punter excited about upcoming game at SC. Why? Well, Southern Cal's band, of course! Fucking pussy:

"They look cool and the guy riding on the horse is cool," Fredrickson said. "Their band just blows my mind."

Neuweasel pissing about NCAA ruling: "I feel badly that the University of Washington is made to take the brunt of things that took place four, five, six, seven years ago."

Had the University of Washington the wherewithal to recognize what a dirtbag you were in the first place, they wouldn't be suffering now.

Neuheisel cries foul after NCAA sanctions

One of his former assistants and a close friend testified before the NCAA committee that at Colorado, Neuweasel "wanted to avoid reviewing matters related to (NCAA) compliance" because, then, he could answer truthfully.

Rick Neuweasel's dubious dealings of the past have finally caught up with him. But enough about his penchant for transsexual heroin junkies! (Bada bump.)

"Red River Shootout" used to be apply to pre- and post-game festivites, too! Unfortunately, those days are long gone, thanks to PC thugs afeared of a little rarely-fatal gunplay:

Texas-OU street rally is a ghost of its former blast

"Those obnoxious drunks did perform one valuable service, Okie Bob said.

'You could go down to the jail on Saturday, and if you asked politely, they'd let you go back and talk to the prisoners,' he said.

Arrestees who wouldn't be out by game time, he said, would sell their tickets for cut-rate prices."
