Jocks Vs. Nerds II -- PETA demanding the admittance of weapons inspectors into South Carolina's football program, will settle for logo change:

"USC needs to distance itself from 'images of blood, dismemberment, death, and illegal gambling.'"

Militant communist on Iowa Board of Regents questions 50-percent pay increase for Iowa State's 7-3 (ultimately to be 8-5) coach in winner-takes-all, jocks-versus-nerds battle royal:

"I wonder when someone is going to stay at one of our schools because they just like to live here and work here."

The audacity.

Whoa.

There's this story out there that claims Smoker partied so hard the day before the Iowa game that he missed the team charter, so the university hired a private plane to fly him in.

Colorado State QB Bradlee Van Pelt an admitted racist baby killer!

"Former Michigan State quarterback Bradlee Van Pelt is shedding no tears for former Michigan State coach Bobby Williams..."

Will God instruct former Colorado head crotch and founder of the Promise Marketers Bill McCartney to take the Baylor job? Allah was unavailable for comment, but Moses was quoted as saying, "Oy, go on, ya shrunken head, ya:"

"I don't rule anything out with Bill McCartney."

Thank goodness the Black Coaches Association is being gracious enough to let Michigan State fire someone on the basis of their incompetence:

Athletic director Ron Mason indicated that the program seemed to be spinning out of control -- he cited Williams' own comments Saturday that he didn't know whether he had lost his team.

Former Tennessee WR Donte Stallworth's decision to turn pro last year was the result of a dare between him and Kelley Washington. Naturally, Washington pussed out:

''He knew Donte would blow him away in all the testing sessions. That's OK, though, because it's worked out for the best for Donte.''

Now, girls, settle your differences, or we'll turn this car around right now:

"I found it interesting that Colorado the entire week talked about all the pressure was on Oklahoma," Stoops said. "And then...we play well and win the football game and they talk about wanting to win the next day...they ought to know when you show up on Saturday, you're not going to the local country club and if you miss your first shot, you tee it up and get a mulligan."

Texas A&M sets record for declining a bowl berth in early November:

The Humanitarian Bowl, scheduled for Dec. 31 in Boise, Idaho, ranks last on the list of eight bowls with Big 12 tie-ins...

Meanwhile, LB Jarrod Penright's taking a page out of Florida State's meltdown manual:

"We go out there, and we just lay down for teams we're supposed to beat...Texas is not good enough to beat us; Oklahoma is not good enough to beat us."

Nothing gets a college football player motivated to excel quite like harsh, unyielding criticism from his own fans:

"To be honest, I'm glad this is his last year," said Georgia WR Terrence Edwards' father, Robert Edwards. "I'm glad we won't have to put up with this bull anymore from the Georgia fans."

Akira-like growth of offensive lineman cause for concern...at nation's all-you-can-eat buffets!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...seriously, they'll probably die soon:

"...it was about the mid-1970s to mid-1980s, that 10-year span -- all of a sudden we see this increase in the average body mass index of these players. Ironically, that's where we begin to see a lot of ACL injuries and begin to see a lot of the osteoarthritis developing in those guys."

I don't even think I would tear down the goal posts installed in my backyard if I had single-handedly beaten Kansas myself:

"Half the (Big 12's) teams have seen goal posts come down this season."

Man, this team is fucked up:

"Michigan State football has hit rock bottom."
